Wonderland Series~Tweedledee or Tweedledum?

'I know what you’re thinking about,’ said Tweedledum: `but it isn’t so, nohow.’

`Contrariwise,’ continued Tweedledee, `if it was so, it might be; and if it were so, it would be; but as it isn’t, it ain’t. That’s logic.’
I can only assume that each of us have witnessed the scuffles between siblings. Perhaps we ourselves have been one of the so called siblings. I think this adds to the charm- that in some way its rather relatable. The Tweedles represent as schoolboys in the books.

I assume this was in some ways, Lewis Carroll's idea to persuade the reader that younger boys are simply not suited for a female. Moreover, it may also be due to Carroll imagining Alice's proper companion as a man like himself, not a boy her own age.

The two characters come across as mischievous and a little irritating at times. Tweedledum and Tweedledee certainly don't make boys look very good – they're rather rude and somewhat violent.

Admittedly, these two characters were rather easy to pull off. As I have already mentioned, they are portrayed as schoolboys; an outfit which isn't particularly challenging to recreate. I really wanted to use stripes in the look as there's something about the print which screams 'twins'. Just me? Tweedledee and Tweedledum also wear stripes in the Tim Burton version and I think its quite perfect.

The Tweedles -more times than not- come across as quite simple in the books and movies. Therefore, I wanted to keep the makeup, hair and outfit minimal. I had to throw in my favourite hat, it's a take on a paperboys cap and it felt as though it was screaming out at me to use. I really think it finishes off the outfit.

I also topped off the look with a beautiful red lipstick. Keeping in with the 'simpleness' of the characters, I wanted to stay on primary colours and felt the red lip worked impeccably well. However, with the striped top and hat, it was extremely difficult not to channel some french vibes.

As I have already mentioned in my introduction to this series. Each look is supposed to be wearable whilst still capturing the essence of each character. Furthermore, to imagine each character as someone in the modern day fashion world. For the tweedles, I wanted to capture their grumpy attitude and simple minds. I'd imagine them to be the noisy parker's in the office, often gossiping, words slipping out of their mouths. Saying things they really shouldn't. Or maybe more cliche; the two clones of the mean girl.

The location for this shoot was actually very spontaneous and we just happened to stumble up on this cool little place. It's the beginning path of a hike trail and trees cover the walkway casting a constant dark shadow over the whole area. This resulted in major lighting difficulties and was incredibly challenging for us. We only work with natural light, one camera and one lense. However, I'm pretty proud of the outcome and we really didn't want to shoot somewhere else. There is just something so 'wonderland-y' about this location.

Again, this location is such a dream! I always wonder how you manage to find such beautiful places.
For some reason I´ve always disliked the Twiddles when I was younger. I´m still not a massive fan of them now but I can appreciate them. As with all the other looks, you´ve captured their essence wonderfully and if you take away the hat, this would honestly make such a beautiful summer outfit!

awh thankyou you're too kind! thankyoy for noticing the locations! it took us over 6 months to find all the locations and some of them changed anyway haha. i was the same, i found them very easy to dislike but i think that was how they were supposed to be. Ironic you would say that because i said the same thing when we were shooting haha. I will probably do a similar look for next summer :) hope you are having a lovely day xo

(My laptop froze so not sure if this sent so I'll write it again) Gorgeous outfit! I really liked how you included information about the books and about the characters as I haven't read the book and how that inspired your outfit choice, I think that is really interesting and is a great touch to the outfit :)
